ICT Skills for Teaching Assistants in Schools

The objectives of the practical course run in the school's ICT suite are:

  1. to provide teaching assistants with better understanding of:
    • supporting ICT in the classroom.
    • health and safety issues.
    • digital terminology.
  2. to provide teaching assistants with better skills in the use of:
    • Windows concepts.
    • graphs and pie charts
    • symbols, images and tables in word processing.
    • slideshows.
    • desktop publishing for displays and booklets
    • files and folders

The course is normlly run over one-day but may be run in 2 or 4 sessions on separate days as appropriate.

For an additional fee of a set of ICT Resources from Pearson Publishing in Cambridge can be supplied for your school. These resources comprise seven modules accessed using Adobe Acrobat Reader that can be used for reference and further self-paced training.
